Breaking: US Assassinates Top Iran Military LeaderWar With Iran is On

on orders from Israel passed to Trump through Ivanka....

Introduction

The attack was staged with US Marines who had just arrived and who captured two survivors at the scene and are holding them prisoner.  As to whether the US is holding General Soleimani’s body and is planning to dump it in the ocean isn’t yet clear but Marines were at the site immediately after the ambush.

Major General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), have been killed in US airstrikes in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, media reports say.
“The deputy head of the Hashed, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and head of the Quds Force, Qasem Soleimani, were killed in a US strike that targeted their car on the Baghdad International Airport road,” Iraqi media quoted the Iraqi pro-government group as saying in a statement on Friday.
“THE AMERICAN AND ISRAELI ENEMY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR KILLING THE MUJAHIDEEN ABU MAHDI AL-MUHANDIS AND QASSEM SOLEIMANI,” SAID AHMED AL-ASSADI, A PMU SPOKESMAN.
The group had earlier said that its public relations director Mohammed Reza al-Jaberi and four other members of the group were also killed after three Katyusha rockets struck a military base next to Baghdad International Airport in the Iraqi capital.
The media bureau of the voluntary forces – better known by the Arabic word Hashd al-Shabai – described the early Friday morning attack as a  “cowardly US bombing”.
The rockets landed near the air cargo terminal, burning two vehicles and injuring several people, the Iraqi Interior Ministry’s Security Media Cell said in an earlier statement.

SHORTLY AFTER THE ATTACK, US OFFICIALS, SPEAKING ON CONDITION OF ANONYMITY, TOLD REUTERS THAT THE STRIKES WERE CARRIED OUT AGAINST TWO TARGETS LINKED TO IRAN IN BAGHDAD. THE OFFICIALS DECLINED TO GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.
Meanwhile, security sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told AFP that eight people were killed in the attack.
The development came as the United States military said on Sunday it had carried out strikes in western Iraq against Kataib Hezbollah group, which is part of the pro-government Popular Mobilization Units – better known by the Arabic word Hashd al-Sha’abi.
Iraqi security sources said at least 25 fighters were killed and at least 55 wounded following the air attacks.
Senior Iraqi officials also condemned the US attack against the Kataib Hezbollah’s positions as a “violation of Iraqi sovereignty”.
Caretaker Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi called the move a “dangerous escalation that threatens the security of Iraq and the region” in a statement on Sunday,
Abdul Mahdi said US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper had called him about half an hour before the US raids to tell him of the US intentions to hit Kataib Hezbollah’s bases. He said he asked Esper to call off US plans.
Iraqi caretaker President Barham Salih also condemned the attack.
The US raids drew a wave of condemnation from officials and movements across the region, and triggered furious public protests outside the US embassy in Baghdad.
The Pentagon said the bombings were in response to attacks targeting American forces near the oil-rich northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk last week, which reportedly killed a US civilian contractor and injured four US service members, as well as two members of the Iraqi security forces. The US accused Kataib Hezbollah group of the attack.

WORLD WAR III? Has President Donald Trump Lost His Mind? May God Give Us a Moment to Reflect for Peace.

It has been my duty – and my honor – to work with such stellar strategic intellects as Col Doug Macgregor, himself a candidate for both Secretary of Defense and National Security Advisor positions during the first Trump Administration, and to be a loyal supporter and admirer of General Michael Flynn, Trump’s first National Security Advisor who was framed by the FBI and the Zionists to remove him from the White House. My observations below are informed by my past as a CIA spy and creator of the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA), and by my non-fiction reading including hundreds of books on the corrupt, dysfunctional, and even treasonous US national security personalities and institutions.
Here are my conclusions:
01 Israel has been trying desperately to force a war with Iran, partly to save war-criminal Benjamin Netanyahu and partly to continue its long standing strategy of destabilization to divide and conquer the Middle East.
02 The primary war-mongering within Iraq is being done by Israel and the Kurds, with the US forces more like a supporting clown show.
03 The “campers” at the US Embassy, thankfully dispersed now, were intended to deceive President Trump into thinking that an Embassy take-over was imminent, similar to that which occurred in Iran under President Carter. Several of us helped end that theatrical show.
04 If Trump did approve this assassination, he was deceived into thinking it was the equivalent of a Bin Laden assassination (never mind that Bin Laden – and ISIS – were both created by the Zionists and the CIA with Pentagon funding and equipment) and he was not told that the assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani within Iraqi territory is right up there with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand that was used as a casus belli for WWI.
05 Trump is surrounded by four pathological networks of liars: the US Army West Point Class of 1986 (Esper, Pompeo, Urban), Christian Zionists (Pompeo, others), Zionist agents (Kushners, both of them), and CIA Zionists (Brennan, Haspel, others). While his new National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien, is doing some spectacularly good work in eliminating Obama war-mongers and agents of foreign powers form the National Security Council, he may not have the nuanced grasp of history and current biographics needed to protect the President from these four networks of liars who favor war with Iran at any cost.
06 Both the US Mainstream Media (MSM) and social media (#GoogleGestapo) are committed to Zionist desires for war with Iran, and careful to cover up the true costs of our was in the Middle East including what are known as Fallujah Babies – the result of depleted uranium used in armor plating and armor-piercing projectiles.
07 A proportional response by Iran would not be a strike on US forces in the region, but rather the assassination, within the USA, of Mark Esper. I say  this not to encourage such a reaction,, but to make clear to all those who read this article that this is what the USA has done to Iran, while also violating Iraqi sovereignty in a manner worthy of the International Criminal Court.
Below is my letter to President Trump submitted to the White House comment line this morning at 0542 Eastern Time.
TIME SENSITIVE WAR PREVENTIVE
Mr. President,
You have been schlonged by DoD and CIA and the US Army Class of 1986. The assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani within Iraqi territory is right up there with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand that was used as a casus belli for WWI.
If you actually gave this order, you need to consider the possibility that everyone that advised you to do so is an agent of influence for Zionist Israel, and fire them.
Right now you need to be thinking about damage control. You are NOT in control of the US Government (as JFK was told by Schlesinger when he was angry over the missiles not being pulled from Turkey as he had ordered).  Rule 1 in Washington according to Mort Halperin in Bureaucratic Politics and Foreign Policy is “Lie to the President if you can get away with it.”
Mike Flynn has a better grip on this stuff than your current team. I earnestly urge you to determine if this was a CIA drone or a DoD drone, and then very publicly fire both the Secretary of Defense and the Director of the CIA, transfer the CIA drones to DoD and terminate their use as assassination devices (most of their [alleged] successes are lies, you are being lied to).
I pray this message reaches you but have no faith that it will. I am doing my duty.  To stop war with Iran, you need to fire Esper and Haspel and put Pompeo on a path out the door. PNG’ing the Israeli Ambassador would not hurt at all.
The West Point 1986 class is schlonging you.  At the same time I believe that Gina Haspel is covering up for John Brennan and not cooperating fully in providing the available records on Brennan’s “green phone” calls to and from the UK with MI-6 and GCHQ.  Combine those with an NSA print-out of every unmasking as Bill Binney and I have recommended to the AG, and you have it all.
I am praying for you. Anyone who supported this insane strike and assassination is an enemy of the USA.
Semper Fidelis,
Robert David Steele

At this most delicate time in the history of the Middle East, I reiterate my view that the restoration of Palestine to the Palestinians is inevitable; the withdrawal of US forces and the closure of US bases in the Middle East (and hopefully around the world) is inevitable; and the degree to which our President is a prisoner in the White House, being lied to by four pathological networks, can and should be considered by the leaders of Iran, Iraq, China, and Russia.
In my view, the best appropriate response at this time is for Iraq to insist that all US forces – and all US “diplomats” as well as contractors (including particularly Exxon employees) leave Iraq. Iraq should also work with Iran and Russia to expel Israeli forces from the Kurdish zone in Iraq.
Escalation of this matter serves the Zionists – no one else. Given our President’s “capture” and our President’s vulnerability to liars – to enemies of America within the White House – to traitors – I humbly and respectfully recommend prudence on the part of Iran, and decisive action on the part of Iraq. Expel all foreigners. Work with Russia to hunt down and kill any Israeli forces that remain behind. Put the Israeli heads on stakes in the public square of Baghdad. This assassination may have been carried out by the USA, but only in our capacity as “useful idiots” in service to the Zionists.
Let this be my contribution to peace this day.
May God Bless each of us and may God have mercy on the souls of those who do great evil without understanding just how evil they have become.

Gov't Spokesman: Iran to Give Lifetime Lesson to US
Gov't Spokesman: Iran to Give Lifetime Lesson to US
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Rabiyee condemned the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani by the US, vowing that his country will give the US a lesson to be remembered by all American presidents in the future.

“The US has crossed the red line,” Rabiyee said, adding, “Assuredly, the government along with all military apparatuses and all Iranians will give the US a harsh lesson so that [Donald] Trump and all future presidents of the US will never forget it.”
“Hajj Qassem Soleimani was the symbolic asset of all Iranians,” he added, highlighting, “All Iranians love Hajj Qassem.”
“We were unable to convince the new generation of our youth that Americans are willing to shed bloods in the world to undermine an impeachment, but with what happened today, Trump exposed the ugly face of the US and its government for all generations,” Rabiyee noted.
Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Qods Force Commander Lieutenant General Soleimani was martyred in a targeted assassination attack by US aircraft at Baghdad International Airport early on Friday morning.
"General Qassem Soleimani has been martyred by the US helicopters after lifetime efforts," the IRGC said in a statement early Friday morning.
The airstrike also martyred Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Iraq's Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), or Hashad al-Shabi. The PMF media arm said the two were martyred in an American airstrike that targeted their vehicle on the road to the airport.
A PMF official said seven people were martyred by missiles fired by the US helicopters at Baghdad International Airport.
He said the dead included the PMF airport protocol officer, Mohammed Reda.
The Pentagon confirmed the attack in a statement.
The attack came amid tensions that started by the US attack on PMF units that killed 28 Iraqi popular forces. A day later, Iraqi people attacked the US embassy in Baghdad. On Wednesday President Donald Trump ordered about 750 US soldiers deployed to the Middle East.
US officials earlier suggested they were to engage in further retaliatory attacks in Iraq.
The developments also represent a major downturn in Iraq-US relations that could further undermine US influence in the region and American troops in Iraq and weaken Washington’s hand in its pressure campaign against Iran.
US President Donald Trump was vacationing on his estate in Palm Beach, Florida, but sent out a tweet of an American flag.
The attack represents a dramatic escalation by the US toward Iran after months of tensions. The tensions take root in Trump’s decision in May 2018 to withdraw the US from Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers, struck under his predecessor.

U.S. Will Come To Regret Its Assassination of Qassim Soleimani

Today the U.S. declared war on Iran and Iraq.
War is what it will get.
Earlier today a U.S. drone or helicopter killed Major General Qassim Soleimani, the famous commander of the Iranian Quds ('Jerusalem') force, while he left the airport of Baghdad where he had just arrived. He had planned to attend the funeral of the 31 Iraqi soldiers the U.S. had killed on December 29 at the Syrian-Iraqi border near Al-Qaim.

bigger
The Quds force is the external arm of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. Soleiman was responsible for all relations between Iran and political and militant movements outside of Iran. Hajji Qassim advised the Lebanese Hisbullah during the 2006 war against Israel. His support for Iraqi groups enabled them to kick the U.S. invaders out of Iraq. He was the man responsible for, and successful in, defeating the Islamic State in iraq and Syria. In 2015 Soleimani traveled to Moscow and convinced Russia to intervene in Syria. His support for the Houthi in Yemen enabled them to withstand the Saudi attackers.

bigger
Soleimani had arrived in Baghdad on a normal flight from Lebanon. He did not travel in secret. He was picked up at the airport by Abu Mahdi al-Muhandes, the deputy commander of the al-Hashd al-Shaabi, an official Iraqi security force under the command of the Iraqi Prime Minister. The two cars they traveled in were destroyed in the U.S. attack. Both men and their drivers and guards died.

bigger
The U.S. created two martyrs who will now become the models and idols for tens of millions of youth in the Middle East.

bigger
The Houthi in Yemen, Hizbullah in Lebanon, Islamic Jihad in Palestine, the paramilitary forces in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere have all benefited from Soleimani's advice and support. They will all take actions to revenge him.
Moqtada al-Sadr, the unruly Shia cleric who commands millions of followers in Iraq, has given orders to reactivate his military branch 'Jaish al-Imam al-Mahdi'. Between 2004 and 2008 the Mahdi forces fought the U.S. occupation of Iraq. They will do so again.
The outright assassination of a commander of Soleimani's weight demands an Iranian reaction of at least a similar size. All U.S. generals or high politicians traveling in the Middle East or elsewhere will now have to watch their back. There will be no safety for them anywhere.
No Iraqi politician will be able to argue for keeping U.S. forces in the country. The Iraqi Prime Minister Abdel Mahdi has called for a parliament emergency meeting to ask for the withdrawal of all U.S. troops:
"The targeted assassination of an Iraqi commander is a violation of the agreement. It can trigger a war in Iraq and the region. It is a clear violation of the conditions of the U.S. presence in Iraq. I call on the parliament to take the necessary steps."
The National Security Council of Iran is meeting with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to "study the options of response". There are many such options. The U.S. has forces stationed in many countries around Iran. From now on none of them will be safe.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, issued a statement calling for three days of public mourning and then retaliation.“His departure to God does not end his path or his mission,” the statement said, “but a forceful revenge awaits the criminals who have his blood and the blood of the other martyrs last night on their hands.”
Iran will tie its response to the political calender. U.S. President Donald Trump will go into his reelection campaign with U.S. troops under threat everywhere. We can expect incidents like the Beirut barracks bombing to repeat themselves when he is most vulnerable.
Trump will learn that killing the enemy is the easy part of a war. The difficulties come after that happened.
In 2018 Soleimani publicly responded to a tweet in which Trump had threatened Iran:
“Mr. Trump, the gambler! […] You are well aware of our power and capabilities in the region. You know how powerful we are in asymmetrical warfare. Come, we are waiting for you. We are the real men on the scene, as far as you are concerned. You know that a war would mean the loss of all your capabilities. You may start the war, but we will be the ones to determine its end.”
Since May 2019 the U.S. deployed at least 14,800 additional soldiers to the Middle East. Over the last three days airborne elements and special forces followed. The U.S.has clearly planned for an escalation.
Soleimani will be replaced by Brigadier General Ismail Ghani, a veteran of the Iran-Iraq war who has for decades been active in the Quds Force and has fought against ISIS in Syria. He is an officer of equal stature and capability.
Iran's policies and support for foreign groups will intensify. The U.S. has won nothing with its attack but will feel the consequences for decades to come. From now on its position in the Middle East will be severely constrained. Others will move in to take its place.

If Iran is smart they would ask Tulsi Gabbard to come to Tehran and try to make peace with Trump. Israel and the neocons in the Trump orbit want an excuse to attack Iran. Don't give them one. Take the high road.

A man elected by telling his followers he will stop all wars overseas and bring the soldiers home. How do you like them apples now?
Posted by: Jose Garcia | Jan 3 2020 9:19 utc3
Oh, it was certainly a grave miscalculation by the US. The NeoCons must have been pushing for it for years, and it wasn't the first assassination attempt. But I don't think the reprisal will be immediate. Retaliation needs to be carefully thought out, in order to avoid an exchange mounting in tension leading to outright war (certainly part of the US plan).

I was wondering, seeing as Netanyahu has suddenly dropped his Greek visit, and run back home, whether the retaliation won't be against Israel. Netanyahu certainly fears it.

Do not retaliate immediately to suit your enemies .
Let the world see how a civilised Iran responds to utter provocation by an uncivilised bully.
They used to call it Buck Braking.
The world (except the usual arselickers) will understand that retaliation is justified and the cost of defending every USA and Israel target will be huge.
When a threat is carried out it is weakened.
Go to World opinion.

Hope al-Sadr has got sore balls from sitting on the fence. Small minded prick trying to use US for his small minded shenanigans. But whatever, if he mobilize his forces against the US, we might be able to cheer a few US bodybags on there way home. With no defences, Iraqi's will pay a high price, but bodybags have a major influence on US public.

Soleimani will be replaced by an officer of equal stature.
I'm not sure I'd agree with that. Sulaimani was a figure of exceptional stature, and skill. But, as you say, he may yet be worth more dead than alive, as a martyr.
Posted by: Laguerre | Jan 3 2020 9:39 utc9
There have been all kinds of threats of retaliation for so long. Nothing materializes. Israel has been bombing targets in Syria with impunity. They’ve even bombed in Iraq.
There’s all kinds of strong words and rhetoric. Let’s see what if anything Khamanei does? Let’s see if the Iraqi parliament does anything? How are they going to force the US military to exit?

thanks b, gruesome news but great article!

The world will remember Qassim Soleimani as a pivotal figure in the struggle against US domination in the Middle East. Rest in peace Major General.
This surely must be the single most stupid thing Trump could do entering the election year.
How ironic that the warmongering Democrats will use the consequences of the targeted killing of an Iranian official as ammunition to kill this presidency.
Iran is not looking for an all out war, the response will be asymmetric and appropriate.
Straining US-Israeli relations and poisoning the political well in the US to accelerate the decline of the American Empire would be the ultimate revenge.
Trump repaid Sheldon Adelson, but more people will pay the ultimate price.

Though I fully believe Trump is capable of ordering a hit one of the highest ranking generals in the Iranian military, I'm not necessarily convinced that is the case. My first thoughts on hearing news of the assassination were as follows: when the Pentagon and its corporate bullhorns make such a special point of telling us that Trump gave the order to kill such a high ranking military figure why do I harbor suspicions that might not have been the case? I don't need telling in capital letters that Trump did it, as I would assume the order would have to have come from the president without having to be told. Normally, Trump does the bragging bit himself. If it is to be done at all. That Trump ordering the hit gets such a special mention suggests that the Pentagon more often than not carries out similar operations irrespective of what the president might want. Well, my might musings may amount to what some what label a conspiracy theory but might a military coup just taken place in the US? After all, would the president have enough courage to tell the American people he had not given the order if that were the case? When we can't trust our leaders and we can't trust the media, who can we trust? And who is to be believed? Apart from that, the way the news is being released has a few unsubtle hints of dumping blame on Trump. A lot of people in the Pentagon, might either regret the operation, or were never given an inkling of what was about to happen.

"The U.S. has won nothing with its attack but will feel the consequences for decades to come. Others will move in to take its place."
Wait for awhile on that one. Iraq will have to take some major hits if it tries moving to the Russia China sphere. And it will have to deal with the fith column which are strong. Iraq will have to go through the fire - like Donbass, Syria ect until it is distilled to a solid core and then they will get support that will drive back the yanks.
Posted by: Peter AU1 | Jan 3 2020 9:53 utc14
To summarize b: The US doesn't gain anything, and potentially loses everything they sought out to do in Iraq (and by extension; Syria), from the killing of Soleimani.
So why do it? Was Soleimani really the target? Who benifits by drawing the US and Iran closer war?
I wouldn't be surprised if an article about 'bad intel received from a 3rd party' pops up in the NYT in a few months time.

Iranians have to do nothing, every rocket, bullett or treeleave which falls in the vicinity of an American will be labeled a counter attack of tthe iranians. And thus striking fear, they will live their own nightmare.
The tweet of khamenie yesterday provoked trump, ttrump did exactly as aspected when sulieman made his public trip to iraq. Maybe he is as dead as Epstein or he did underestimatte the american stupiditty.

There’s all kinds of strong words and rhetoric. Let’s see what if anything Khamanei does?
You underestimate the gravity of the crisis. It's much more profound than that, not far off 9/11 level. But there won't be instant retaliation. That would be foolish.

Nice one, b, thanks...
I've been following Elijah M. and several others on twitter, as well as more mainstream sources for several hours after learning of these assassinations.
the absolute stupidity, maliciousness and wickedness of the US Political and Military Elites is truly astonishing. They have misjudged every single thing in that part of the world since 9/11 and the invasions and occupations of Afghanistan and then Iraq - and spent/wasted well over $5 trillion. not to mention the horrific loss of life everywhere from Syria to Iraq and Yemen. And we are now looking at another even more catastrophic war.
it is unbelievable

The price of crude oil has jumped over $2 USD on the world markets since the news
I expect the US to fully resist being booted out of Iraq (which would also make it's two major positions in Syria highly untenable). who could now believe that US troops in Iraq and Syria won't come under sustained attack now, by the many allies Iran has in the area?
